We started 2020 with Lace Sunday at Linwood House. To say the least, it was a hot Summer's day filled with lacemaking. There was also some amazing examples of lace and Sophie's talk on Hungarian lace. The week after, we attended Craft Alive and demonstrated lace to the community!
We met for the last Lace Day for 2019 to celebrate the 40th Anniversary Lace Day and Christmas. The day was filled with lots of activities happening like social lacemaking, lace displays, morning tea and announcements for the competition winners in various lace categories. In the afternoon, there was a presentation of the Lace Guild's history showcasing the beginnings, various works and members. What amazing memories and achievements! We also welcomed a special guest - Rosemary Shepherd, one of the original founders for the Australian Lace Guild, author and lace-maker. Season's Greetings and Happy Stitching!
Our members recently attended the National AGM/Conference in October which was held in Launceston, Tasmania. It provided a good opportunity to catch up with fellow lace makers and make lace. Barbara shares a photo of her design of a 'sGravenmoer with a twist. It was inspired by Vicki Taylor's workshop that encouraged lots of creative ideas! Credit: Barbara Stokes

Our members met for International Lace Day at the Sydney Opera House steps to be part of it. Lacemakers arrived very early to take some photos on a very foggy morning. Some arrived at 8.30am prepared to make lace! We continued the day with more lacemaking since it was also our Lace Day at the Powerhouse Museum.
